join the adventure.

Hike Club Social was born from a love of exercise, the outdoors and most importantly... socialising! As the catch phrase goes, drinking is fun... but nature is funner!

Wanna join us? If the hike is ready for sign ups, you'll see the button below. If not, sit tight and it will be ready soon (usually 7 days out from the hike date).

Check out what's coming up below! And don't forget this isn't the full schedule, head to "events." to see what other adventures we have in store.

OUT & BACK
Baroon Lookout and Obi Obi Creek

Date: Sunday 11 January
Distance: 7kms
Time: 9am
Grade: Easy

No doubt it be a hot day so we'll need to have plenty of water on us and a couple of snacks for a morning on the trail. Expect this hike to take around 2 hours and a potential swimming spot so bring your swimmers for a dip!

This one is graded easy but will become challenging on the hills in the heat so be mindful of this. Trail should be clear, easy to navigate with a couple of rest stops / viewpoints along the way.

RAINFOREST LOOP
Lower Bellbird Circuit

Date: Saturday 17 January
Distance: 10kms
Time: 8am (for 815am start)
Grade: Moderate

This is a popular section of rainforest but there are so many trails in there area, we'll be unlikely to come across too many other people. As always, water and snacks are required as you'll be hiking for about 3 hours. First aid and snake bite kits are encouraged as well to ensure you are taking responsibility for yourself.

Catch you out there for a stunning morning in the forest!

community lead hike
Greenes Falls

Date: Sunday 8 February
Distance: 4kms
Time: 8am (for 815am start)
Grade: Easy

Introducing "Community Lead Hikes"...

For these ones, your usual leaders won't be around on the day, though everything else will run the same as the other hikes (sign up, group chat, meeting point provided and prep reminders).

Instead of your usual leaders, we'll invite a couple of HCS regulars who are attending to take the lead on the day and make sure every one knows where to go. Simples!

Rest assured, the trails we'll choose as "Community Lead" will always be short, easy and well known to us.

You've got this!

community lead hike
Purling Brook Falls

Date: Saturday 21 February
Distance: 6kms
Time: 8am (for 815am start)

half day hike
Warrie Circuit

Date: Sunday 1 March
Distance: 13kms
Time: 8am (for 815am start)
Grade: Moderate

An old favourite for Hike Club Social, and the only trail we've done every year since HCS began in 2023. So let the tradition continue!

It's a favourite for a reason, it's the perfect length to test your endurance without any intense elevation throughout. The trail provides the perfect rest stop at half way, with plenty to explore around the "meeting of the waters" - two creeks joining to continue down the valley.

2-3L of water required, decent hiking shoes and plenty of snacks / early lunch to get you through. We ask that everyone has their own first aid and snake bit kit for these longer trails to ensure you have yourself covered (and maybe someone else!).

summit for sunset
Mount Mitchell Trail

Date: Saturday 17 March
Distance: 16kms
Time: pm TBC (pending sunset timing)
Grade: Hard

We love a summit for sunset! Be warned though, this will be a long trek back in the dark so head torches are a must, along with some warmer layers incase the wind or rain picks up!

Expect the hike in to take a couple of hours and the hike out to be the same. Plus a good half an hour at the summit watching the sunset and enjoying some quality time in the wild.

Some of our favourite times on hikes have been the (slightly dilerious) missions back to the trail head in the pitch black, finding glow worms and telling stories to pass the time.

These are the kinds of "big Saturday nights" we live for.

ONE FOR THE DOGGOS
Mount Ninderry

Date: Sunday 22 March
Distance: 3kms
Time: 9am (915am)
Grade: Easy

One of the only (decent) dog friendly hikes in the greater Brisbane / SE Queensland area! Which means we need to take extra good care of it. Leave no trace applies to your doggos too! The hike is pretty short, though a bit of an uphill climb. You and your pooch will need water, and maybe some treats to get through (yes, for the dog too).

Important: You don't have to bring a dog! This one is still open to everyone, just a chance for our members with doggos to bring them along too.

If you are bringing a dog, please make sure they are reasonably well socialised with other dogs and are okay in big groups of people. You can let us know in the group chat ahead of time if there is anything specific we need to know about your dog (ie. this is Milo, please don't feed him - he's on a diet <insert photo of chunky doggo>).
